What is online information service ?
- Online information service offer access to information via the internet, online databases and digital collections
What are the databases subscribed by the library?
- The library subscribes to : IEEE Explore, ACM Digital Library, SpringerLink, Science Direct, IOP Journals, ASME, EngNETbase, Academic Search Premier and Proquest Dissertations, Scopus, Oxford Reference Online, Knovel and Ebsco Host.
How do I gain access to online database ?
- All online databases subscribed by the library are being linked to e-Resources page. Log on to library website at https://mylibrary.unimap.edu.my or via UniMAP Portal.
- Users will be prompted for username and password before being granted access to e-resources.
What is my username and password ?
- Username will be your user e-mail and password will be your complete identification card number.
Can I gain access to online databases from home ?
- Yes, EzProxy provides remote access to online databases as long as you are connected to the internet.
Can I print and download full text content available on online databases?
- Full text contents of journals and books are available for printing and downloading. In fact you can e-mail the full text content to your mailbox.
Can the library teach me on searching online databases for my research project?

Can I gain access to online databases as long as I am connected to the internet?
- You can access all resources available on the net if you are connected to the internet. However, this does not mean you can have access to all online database published by commercial publishers. Access to full text contents is being granted only for subscribers including libraries, institutions and individuals.

Info Access Lab
- Info Access Lab is located on the first floor and can accommodate up to 40 users. The lab is equipped with print station, 40 computers for internet access, and a ceiling mounted projection screen.
- This room is used daily by library patrons for internet access and document printing. Users are required to register their names at the Digital Repository and Media Desk before they can use the computer.
- Library instruction programs such as EndNote classes and online databases searching skills are held at the Info Access Lab
Self Services
Book Drop Station
- This service offers unprecedented flexibility and convenience of returning library items at any time of the day, even when the library is closed.
- Loans for the returned items will be immediately cancelled so that patron may borrow other items according to their loan eligibility.
- The book drop station is located on the first floor and outside the library entrance.
Copying Service
- A self service copying machine is located at the second floor. Users must first purchase the copy cards for RM10.00 or RM5.00 per card.
- Users are reminded that they must not infringe the copyright law.

Printing Service
- Electronic and fee-based printing is available at the Info Access Lab. Computers in the lab are networked to print station and accept copy card for payment.
- Customers are required to purchase the card (RM10.00 / RM5.00 per card) at the Digital Repository and Media Desk.

Password Controlled Lockers
- The library provides pigeon - hole shelves for users to keep their belongings such as bags and folders. They are located on the first floor near the library entrance.
- However, the library will not be responsible for any loss or damage of the personal belongings left at the pigeon holes.
Studying at The Library
Discussion Rooms
- 6 unit of discussion rooms is located on the first floor and can accommodate up to 25 users at a time.
- The rooms are fully equipped with computers, power and network sockets.
- Wireless internet access is available here.
Newspaper Area
- News paper area (printed) is located on the ground floor. This area is used for relaxation while reading major Malaysian newspapers such as Utusan Malaysia, Berita Harian and the New Straits Times, Nan Yang Siang Pau and Tamil Nesan.
- Users can also read online newspaper via the library's internet facility at second floor.
- This area accomodate with two units touch screen computers and wireless internet access.
