Program Literasi Maklumat Untuk Golongan B40 Perpustakaan Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra, UniMAP

Program Literasi Maklumat Untuk Golongan B40 adalah program anjuran Perpustakaan Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra (PTSFP) dengan kerjasama Bahagian Teknologi Pendidikan, Jabatan Pendidikan Negeri Perlis.

Program Literasi Maklumat ini merupakan inisiatif Program Read@Uni yang memfokus kepada perkembangan anak-anak golongan B40. Program ini bertujuan memupuk minat membaca, meningkatkan kemahiran mengesan dan meneroka maklumat serta menggunakan maklumat untuk meningkatkan kreativiti dalam menghasilkan inovasi.

Program mingguan yang berlangsung pada setiap hari Rabu melibatkan 74 Sekolah di Perlis. Anak-anak pelajar sekolah rendah diiringi oleh guru Pusat Sumber Sekolah dibawa meneroka koleksi, kemudahan dan perkhidmatan Perpustakaan Hybrid yang dibangunkan oleh Universiti Malaysia Perlis. Mereka kemudiannya terlibat dalam aktiviti Scavenger Hunts secara berkumpulan bertemakan "History of Cars" .

Mereka kemudiannya menyertai aktiviti merekabentuk dan menghasilkan lukisan bertemakan "Future Cars" di ruang MCMC UniMAP Makerspace. Anak-anak ini kemudiannya berpeluang meneroka, membaca dan membawa pulang bahan bacaan yang dipamerkan di Sudut Books4Gifts di Tunnel Gallery.

The Information Literacy Program for B40 Group is a program organized by the Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Library (PTSFP) in collaboration with the Educational Technology Division, Perlis State Education Department.

This program is a an initiative from Read @ Uni program that focuses on the development of B40 childrens. The aims of this program is to foster reading interest, to improve information tracking skills and explore information, and use information to enhance creativity in innovation.

The weekly program runs every Wednesday involving 74 schools in Perlis. Primary school children accompanied by School Resource Center teachers are brought to explore the Hybrid Library collection, facilities and services developed by Universiti Malaysia Perlis. They participated in the Scavenger Hunts activity with the theme "History of Cars".

They also took part in designing and producing the "Future Cars" themed painting at the MCMC - UniMAP Makerspace. These children have the opportunity to explore, read and take home reading material on display at the Books4Gifts Corner at the Tunnel Gallery.
